American Legion: The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER): AVER is a non-profit, chapter-based association of active, reserve and veteran servicemembers dedicated to full and equal rights and equitable treatment for all present and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV): The 1.2 million-member Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) charity dedicated to building better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families.

GULFLink: GulfLINK was established in August 1995 to provide on-line access to medical, operational, and intelligence documents from the 1990-1991 Gulf War. Its purpose was and is to provide Service members, veterans, and any interested person with information on what happened during that war that might have affected the health of those who served. Our new-look GulfLINK contains all the reports, documents, and links of its predecessor and continues our commitment to our Service members. It is one more element of DoDs highest priority – ensuring the good health of our Service members through a partnership for health among the Service members, their families, their leaders, and their health care professionals.

International Conference of War Veteran Ministers: This organization was founded by Vietnam veterans and provides spiritual support to veterans of all eras.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA): Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is the nation's first and largest group dedicated to the Troops and Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the civilian supporters of those Troops and Veterans

Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA): The site is dynamic, ever-changing, to keep the membership and all Veterans of Korea, 1945 until now, informed of America’s oldest and largest association of Korea Veterans.

Mehadi Foundation: The Mehadi Foundation (pronounced "meh-húh-DEE") is a non-profit foundation with two missions. The first is to serve as a support network providing assistance to United States Armed Forces Veterans who were enlisted during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Our intention is to reach out especially to veterans who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and those who self-medicate with drugs and alcohol, or who suffer from other addictive patterns. The Mehadi foundation makes a special effort to reach out to members of the LGBTQ community who served under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" statute.

National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. Find your local rape/abuse crisis center on their website.

National Veterans Legal Services Program: The National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) has been the voice of veterans’ rights for more than 25 years. NVLSP is an independent, non-profit, charitable organization acting to ensure that the U.S. government honors the pact made with our 25 million veterans.

National Women Veterans United (NWVU): National Women Veterans United (NWVU) is a not for profit local network of women veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces. The mission of NWVU is to educate women veterans of their federal, state and local VA benefits and entitlements and assist women in accessing health care, education, employment and available resources.

Network of Care for Veterans & Service Members: The Network of Care for Veterans & Service Members is a one-stop shop for virtually all services, information, support, advocacy, and much more. Currently serves Maryland, Oregon, and California.

Service Women's Action Network (SWAN): SWAN is a non-partisan, non-profit human rights organization that works to improve the welfare of U.S. servicewomen and all women veterans. SWAN advocates for servicewomen and women veterans by educating the public, recommending sound policy reform to legislators, developing creative, healing and empowering community programs, offering personal support and guidance from fellow women veterans and providing pro bono legal referrals from military law experts.

The Soldiers Project: The Soldiers Project is a private, non-profit, independent group of volunteer licensed mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, registered nurses and marriage and family therapists. We provide free counseling and support to military service members who have served or who expect to serve in the Iraq and/or Afghanistan conflicts and to veterans of those conflicts. We see active duty as well as members of activated Reserve or Guard units. In addition, our services are available to the families and other loved ones of service members. We provide help to service members and families struggling with issues related to the overwhelming trauma of war including the cycle from pre-deployment to deployment to homecoming and re-entry to civilian life.

Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA): Founded in 2003, the Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA) is a 501 (c) 3 organization that acts proactively with other concerned gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) organizations to ensure that transgender veterans will receive appropriate care for their medical conditions in accordance with the Veterans Health Administration's Customer Service Standards promise to "treat you with courtesy and dignity . . . as the first class citizen that you are." Further, TAVA will help in educating the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) on issues regarding fair and equal treatment of transgender and transsexual individuals. Also, TAVA will help the general transgender community when deemed appropriate.

Veterans Advantage: Veterans Advantage is a national program that partners with corporations that want to do their part to honor and thank all who serve our country. Our partner companies show their appreciation and thanks by providing preferred pricing on their goods or services everyday.

Veterans Suicide Prevention Hotline: The Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has founded a national suicide prevention hotline to ensure veterans in emotional crisis have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. To operate the Veterans Hotline, the VA partnered with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Veterans can call the Lifeline number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), and press "1" to be routed to the Veterans Suicide Prevention Hotline.

Vets4Vets: Vets4Vets is a non-partisan organization dedicated to helping Iraq and Afghanistan-era veterans to heal from the psychological injuries of war through the use of peer support. Their primary goal is to help Iraq and Afghanistan-era veterans understand the value of peer support and to regularly use peer support to express their emotions, manage their challenges and ease their reintegration into society. Our vision is that anytime a veteran needs to talk with someone who really understands, a local Vets4Vets peer support group is available at no cost. We envision Vets4Vets being a common name in the minds of all veterans as a place where they, and their comrades, can go to heal. Vets4Vets also hold LGBTQI veteran workshops.

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA): Founded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA's goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans.

The Vietnam-Era Prisoner-of-War/Missing-in-Action Database: This database has been established to assist researchers interested in investigating the U.S. Government documents pertaining to U.S. military personnel listed as unaccounted for as of December 1991. The title of this collection is "Correlated and Uncorrelated Information Relating to Missing Americans in Southeast Asia." The documents are declassified by the Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) and released to the Federal Research Division, Library of Congress, for public access.

Wounded Warrior Project: The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors; to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women; to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and; to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.
